THE BOOK

Susan Henley

A Spiritual Look at Dementia

For Sara, the loss of her husband, Peter, was unbearable. Soon after he passed, Peter came to visit, taking her to various places that only they could go. Her children, refusing to believe that she was talking to him, assumed that she had dementia. She suffered a fall, and from that time on never returned to her home.

But while recovering, Sara was able to travel beyond The Veil, learning beautiful, heartfelt lessons that she was able to bring back with her and pass on to her children. Peter takes Sara on a journey both here and to the hereafter. Her life, and those of her children, is never the same. She finds an abundance of peace and serenity in a place that is timeless, where unconditional love creates healing and comfort and where the ravages of dementia cannot touch her.

Walking among the angels, Sara's desire is for everyone to know the place, beyond The Veil.

From the moment I started reading this book, I could not put it down. What a beautiful love story, about Sara and Peter, their children and grandchildren. Children are so open and receptive to the realm beyond the physical. This reminded me so much of when my dad passed over. My mother and aunt heard Daddy calling to my mom by name. They both heard it. Before my mom passed over she would reach, as if reaching for the other side. I highly recommend this to all believers and skeptics alike. Rev. Sue makes a difficult subject fun, heartwarming and informative! Can't wait for the next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A new way of seeing...

Those of us who believe in the soul accept that it departs when the body dies. Many of us have had experiences with souls who've moved beyond The Veil. Susan Henley proffers a unique, intriguing theory--that souls may begin releasing themselves from physical bodies before death, which we, the unseeing, interpret as dementia. Sara, Beyond the Veil truly is a spiritual look at dementia, gently leading the reader to a new perspective of what a loved one is experiencing.

I read your latest book & loved it. It made me smile & cry at the same time. Took me back to when I had to set my husband free from this physical world & helped me understand what some of my dementia/alzheimers clients may actually be experiencing before they pass away. I had one client imparticular that had a man & yound lady she said would visit her in her room. They would always sit in a chair in the corner and she described them to me. I always believed she saw someone but your book gave me a different way of looking at what might have been. I hadn't told you of a friend who's mom was always connected to Spirit/Fairies & was diagnosed as having dementia a few years ago. She still sees & talks to "creatures" that hang around her bedroom & sometimes at the breakfast table with her...I explained to her daughter, my friend long before I read your book to never dismiss the possiblility that her mom was still connecting with Spirit/Fairies to this day...even with the other evidence that she has dememtia...her 'creatures' may be more than "in her mind"! I've recommended she read this book too.

I would recommend this book to everyone, but especially to those that have aging parents that are experiencing dementia. I also love the unity prayer that the author shared.
